Dan couldn't decide because he loved Lauri in a family type way, but he wanted Fresh to be free. Dan had to go through some hard times, but Dan decided to set Fresh free. I have proof that Dan decided to set Fresh free because late at night, Dan tried to dump Fresh out._Adam Meyer
I think Dan couldn't decide because he wanted Fresh to be in his normal habbitat but he loved Lauri in the family type way.Dan had really hard dicicions to make.Let fresh be held captive or feel guilty that he made Luari lose his first fresh water mussle.

I agree with Nicole because I think he can't decide or not because Lauri was so excited and might stop depending on and liking Dan
