During your second reading, you were asked to note places where Dan was acting nice and places where he was acting a little strange.
Considering these observations, why do you think Dan leaves Fresh's fate to chance and how do you think he feels about what finally happens?

Layla Riazati- I noticed that Dan was being a lot kinder about Fresh when Laurie was around I think he acted nicer because he did not want to hurt Laurie's feelings.I think he was acting a little strange when the fisher person was there and he said that they should come later I really didn't get that, I mean was he like scared of the fisher person? Anyone know if you do answer me

ReplyDeleteAnyway I think that Dan wanted fresh to be free. And if this was real life,Dan might have been jelouse because he wouln't get Fresh and his cousin would.
Maddie Blunier- Layla, you are right. I don't get why Dan was scared of the fisher person. He is just a normal person fishing like Dan is. Then, I thought he got a little strange. He was nice when he let Laurie keep the mussel/Fresh. He was probably going to let it go when he did the experiment. In the book it said Dan was ALWAYS kind to Laurie. When Dan did the experiment, he yelled at Laurie for saying, "DON'T LET IT GO!!!!!!" when he dropped Fresh in the mud.
ReplyDeleteJack Blunier- I think that Dan acted strange around the fisher person (fisherman) because he looked a little bit afraid in the picture at the begining of the story because his expresions.

ReplyDeleteTo answer the second question, I think Dan was annoyed with Laurie for some reason and that is why he left Fresh's fate at a risk. I think he feels relieved because he thought the whole night situation. He thought that was all a dream until he woke up.

I think that Dan was having an internal conflict. Friend vs. Fish! I think he wanted to please his friend but was conflicted......

I agree with Layla because Dan was acting funny when he wasn't with Laurie but when he was with Laurie he would act normal. I think he wanted Fresh to live free in the water.

Cassidy B. I agree with Layla because Dan was acting funny with out Laurie and he wanted to dump fresh out in to his real home in the river.

molly- i think that dan was glad that the next morning, after the night he thought that he let fresh go that fresh was still there. it was a relife to him. i think it would of hurt laurie to be excited about taking him home and then not finding him there the next day... sad :(
